Biography:
Anti Hero, delinquent, local Shermer senior bad boy.John Bender comes from an abusive, violent, neglected family background on the rough side of town, Abuse physically from his father, verbally from his mother and it shows, constantly misbehaving, notorious detention record and scandalous attendance record, he shows no concern for his grades or any incline to excel at school. He acts out towards anyone of authority, challenges them, retaliates against being provoked, verbally, violently if necessary…Known for running his mouth, Bender takes great pleasure in belittling others, dragging them down to what he has been told, all his life, to be his level, drilled into his head that he’ll never amount to anything, that he has no future, that he’s worthless…stupid…retarded and disrespectful…John shows carelessness towards his wellbeing, spontaneous in his actions regardless of the outcome and danger…though most of it is projection, his bad-boy image a facade to cover up any and all vulnerability…Poverty-stricken, abusive parents on welfare, unable to get a job due to his criminal record…John lives in his clothes, on the street most nights, doing anything he can to survive and avoid his so-called home, to avoid the cigar burns from his father, the humiliation from his mother, even going as far as to rummage in dumpsters just for a decent meal or something to eat, Bender is physically weak, scrawny, his clothes ill-fitting and far too big for his frame, he compensates with being fast, good at track, basketball and Parkour, he can easily remove himself from a sticky situation and if all else fails, falls back on relying on a switchblade that he keeps nestled in his pocket at all times.If he’s not locking horns with the bull of Shermer, picking on people, sexually harassing girls, fighting with his father or running from the law, Bender takes pleasure in small things he can derive happiness from…if only for a fleeting moment in time… Vinyl players, record collections, cassettes…boomboxes, house parties, and gigs, hot dogs, burgers, guilty pleasure foods and of course…sex, drugs, rock, and roll.Although John has, in the past, displayed a very short temperament, he refuses to become like the man who made his life hell, anger easy to rise and snap, projecting his feelings towards the world and everyone in it onto other students, Bender seldom and rarely resorts to violence on others, most of the time he will walk away, take his frustrations out on something inanimate, remove himself from a situation, though when it calls for it, backed into a corner with nowhere to go? fists will fly, heads will be butted and fights will be played out dirty.For those lucky enough to get past the bad boy self-preservation parade, Bender can be a loyal partner and friend, if he trusts you if he lets you get that close, tending to be pretty closed off he reluctantly engages in intimacy he knows will get under his skin. But, on the rare occasion it does happen, he will stand by you, take a bullet for you, risk everything and go out on a limb, protective and he’ll even share his weed with you.

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal (Paul Gleason). The disparate group includes rebel John (Judd Nelson), princess Claire (Molly Ringwald), outcast Allison (Ally Sheedy), brainy Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) and Andrew (Emilio Estevez), the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently – and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.It’s Very Nice, But Very Boring [College AU]Set four years after the events of the Breakfast club, high school graduation came and went and John never graduated due to his failing grades, now as Carl predicted (Cut from the movie) Bender was unable to deal with the fact he would be stuck at home with his abusive parents and fell into a spiral of depression fuelled by the looming prospect of unemployment and no future…
No where to go…Nothing to do…Constantly told he was a failure, John attempted suicide and narrowly came out of it, spending a couple of weeks in hospital and therapy soon after.
Upon the news of Bender’s attempt to top himself, he was simulated into an all boys college (Lightly based on Making The Grade) having been picked up by one of Shermer’s fat cat millionaires who happened to be running a “Better youth better tomorrow.” Program and is now, with his experience as a delinquent studying a course in Law.Better Call Bender-[Modern Day AU]John Bender, Attorney at law, criminal defence lawyer and friend to the friendless.
Surprisingly, John graduated from the all boy’s college with flying colours and received his diploma as well as passing the bar, does he use his new job for good to defend the innocent? of course not.
John work’s mostly within the criminal justice system of America, deferring at times to use his extensive experience with the Law to cut down the times of those who commit petty crimes and goddamn is he good at it.
